DongDong

   'DONGDONG' began in 2011 as a project in which the screenplay and illustrations were developed side by side, and was completed in 2013. The story is rooted in Eastern fantasy.

 

   It is envisioned as a hybrid between manga and graphic novel. While much of the project must remain unrevealed for now, I am sharing a few illustrations that offer a glimpse into its world. To shape the visual identity of DONGDONG, I created the concept art using two different approaches: half through digital painting, and the other half by hand in watercolor.
